around here and there

this winter’s last snow

melted into to the shape of

a hot continent

snow blows through the the night

leaves shadowy, ghostly tracks

ignores traffic sign

beginning to melt
the warmer weather reveals
piney-cone of life

winter melts away

spring uncoils to warm the land

white retreats from green

slogging through the snow

spots a handy place to rest

but so far away

Bringing back the memories

twilight bathes the town
