A quiet morning

When the world is still and calm

Resting peacefully

once a space to float

now the beach has reappeared

with lounging driftwood

[Amy] Cattail

like cats love the warm
fingers reaching for the sun
as evening grows cold

[Amy] Layers

like a shuffled deck
one on top of another
layers intertwined

[Amy] Piney-cone

beginning to melt
the warmer weather reveals
piney-cone of life

surprising colors
hide among the winter grass
fun color fungus

eroded concrete

ghostly remnants left behind

floating on pavement

grey and still like stone

pigeons on ornate perches

trying to blend in

one day spring will come

and as we revel in warmth

ice will liquify
